Illustration Friday: Journey

As she set out on her solo journey by lantern light, her friends stayed close by to ensure her safety.

For Illustration Friday: journey

This is my winning entry for a poster contest in 2005 for a festival in Pacific Grove, CA

Today is hubby's birthday so I had to pull something from my archives because I'm busy making dinner for friends. I had forgotten all about this piece which I so enjoyed doing!
I hope you enjoy it too! I had to print the PDF and then scan the copy. This is the best I could do.

Happy weekend!

Skywatch Friday: Double Delight

This will be my last Skywatch post until I get to my new place back east. I thought it would be appropriate to show the last sunset I photographed when my uncle was here 2 weeks ago. The sky went from a gorgeous twilight lavender to a blazing sunset in a matter of twenty minutes.

Talk about the right place at the right time!

I'm looking forward to posting photos from the other coast soon.

Until then, check here for other skies around the world...and thanks for stopping by to enjoy the scenery here!

Animal Wednesday: Double Header

I know this is a stretch! I took these pics a couple of months ago when I was down at Lover's Point shooting Skywatch photos.
This two-headed swanboat was the first one to be used in The Feast of Lanterns celebration. ( I find the event a bit hokey.)
Now it's behind a protective chain enjoying its retirement.

Happy Animal Wednesday and safe boating everyone!

Skywatch Friday: A Few More Sunsets

As my time nears the end of living near Asilomar Beach I'm going to take in as many sunsets as I can and share them with all of you.

Each setting sun shows us that we never know what's going to be on the horizon.

Happy Skywatch Friday, and remember to go here to see more skies in different parts of the world.

Skywatch Friday: Misty Morning

The first of May and the morning sky is inviting. The mist is rising off the water as the surfers get ready to start their days. Aaaaah, life is good!

Happy Skywatch Friday everyone! Don't forget to look at that glorious canvas over your head. To see other sky shots, run on over to this place!

Skywatch Friday: Chief Big Cloud

The skies were clearing after a rain shower. This cloud over the Asilomar Conference Center looks like someone has been sending smoke signals!

For more interesting shots of skies from around the globe, please stop by Skywatch Friday and join the fun!

And remember to look up, there's always so much to admire.

Skywatch Friday: Lover's Point Vista

There's a place about a mile and a half from my house called Lover's Point Park in Pacific Grove. It has miles of walking and bike trails along the coast with views like this one. Lots of folks get married here. Who can blame them?

Check out other sky shots from around the world on Skywatch!
