Skywatch Friday: The Fog Arrives

One of the reasons we don't need air conditioning here in the Monterey Bay is because the fog always comes in after a warm day, like putting a wet blanet on a fire. The fog visits a little too often for my liking in the summer though.

Check out these skies from around the world to see how the other half lives!

Skywatch Friday: A Few More Sunsets

As my time nears the end of living near Asilomar Beach I'm going to take in as many sunsets as I can and share them with all of you.

Each setting sun shows us that we never know what's going to be on the horizon.

Happy Skywatch Friday, and remember to go here to see more skies in different parts of the world.

Skywatch Friday: Misty Morning

The first of May and the morning sky is inviting. The mist is rising off the water as the surfers get ready to start their days. Aaaaah, life is good!

Happy Skywatch Friday everyone! Don't forget to look at that glorious canvas over your head. To see other sky shots, run on over to this place!

Skywatch Friday: Puffy Remnant

I love this little wisp of a cloud highlighted by the sunset. It's moments like this that make me smile as wide as the sky ;)

Happy Skywatch Friday my friends! Please remember to look up and to also visit here to see more sky shots from the world.

Skywatch Friday: Chief Big Cloud

The skies were clearing after a rain shower. This cloud over the Asilomar Conference Center looks like someone has been sending smoke signals!

For more interesting shots of skies from around the globe, please stop by Skywatch Friday and join the fun!

And remember to look up, there's always so much to admire.

Illustration Friday : Breezy Encounter

Many of you know I live near the ocean, a place that centers me and nourishes my soul.

One breezy day I was trying to walk off the blues. This seagull hovered not a foot away from my face and looked me right in the eye as if telling me to leave all my cares right there.

As she hung in the breeze, she brought me down to earth.

(I posted this painting 2 years ago, but not for Illustration Friday.)

Skywatch Friday: Blazing Streak

One of the most wonderful things about sunsets are the surprises you see on the camera after the shot is taken. I love the way this airplane trail ended up being the focal point when I snapped the shutter. Kismet.

To see other glorious shots from around the world, check out Skywatch!

Thanks for stopping by. And don't forget to look up and be grateful.

Skywatch Friday : Dreamboat

This sky is over Asilomar Beach on the Monterey Bay where I live. I didn't even know the whalewatching boat was in the picture because I was focusing on the sky, otherwise I would have never stuck him right in the middle!

Make sure you visit Skywatch Friday to see other stunning pictures from around the world!

Skywatch Friday : January Sunset

For those of you who stop by to see my Skywatch Friday entries, you may notice that I post a lot of sunsets! I never tire of them as each one is different and special. I feel so lucky to have the chance to see this nearly every day because I live so close to the ocean. My favorite part is when the sun is nearly gone and the clouds stay lit from below. Man, I'm blessed!

Please stop by Skywatch Friday's site to see other lovely pics from around the world!
