Animal Wednesday: Sjimmie's Spirit

For those of you who know Marianne, you know she lost her beloved cat recently, Sjimmie.
He was one of those special cats that comes along once in a lifetime.

He was buried by her back fence under the two towers which were known to be his "kingdom."
I wanted to capture the essence of him, his spirit world by the fence with Buddha for protection.
I'm sure you recognize the photo of him which has been on her blog for a long time now. I always knew I wanted to paint that, but never did I know it would be to remember him this way.
I just got off the phone with Marianne who couldn't thank me enough for this small gift.

You're very welcome my dear friend.
Happy (belated) birthday!

xoxo
Lo

  1. This is so sad, but uplifting too. What a lovely memorial for this special cat! I am so sorry that he has left his human companions behind, but know that he has just gone ahead exploring and they will find him again one day.

I don't have words to explain my gratitude. It is sad but also such a comfort to have this painting. It is like I got him back in a way :)
I told you before only you can capture the soul of a lost pet in a painting dear. He is in a spot now where I can see him all the time like he is still here with me.
The colors blend in with the lavender of my studio.
I will post the pictures soon.
What a tribute to Sjimmie. It means so much to me, just like your friendship. I am so lucky the universe brought you on my path.......
    You are so special!
    Thanks a million!!!!!
    I love you dear!
