Skywatch Friday: Day one of 2010

As I peered out my kitchen window this morning this is what I saw.

Light grey skies peering through snow-covered trees.

The only indication this isn't a black and white photo is the blown glass piece on my windowsill.

Let's go see other Skywatch Friday pics to see what the fist day of the year looked like around the world!
The happiest of New Years to all of my dear friends in blogland!

  1. Happy Happy New year dear!

When I look outside my window it is grey and raining here, looks very boring, hope it is not a promise to the rest of the year :)

  6. This is so peaceful and beautiful - the glass almost makes it look like a colored black and white - lovely!

  8. Dear Laurel -

What a lovely surprise to see your comment on my post this morning! I haven't been blogging very much for the past year or so, and it's such a treat to reconnect with you:) I'm glad you're settled in RI - and really happy that your studio is working out well for you.

This photo is gorgeous. I love the contrast of the bright glass against the dreary landscape. Our view this morning was a grey as yours... it really did look like a b & w world... then the sun came out and everything started to melt.

I wish you a wonderful new year... and I look forward to keeping up with blogs and blogging in general.

    Stay well,
    xxx - Carla

  12. lo, i cannot begin to tell you how much i love this. i LOVE it!

i am partial to black and white with a splash of small color somewhere, and this is all that and more.

plus i've looked out that window myself and it just reminds me how lucky i am in friendship.

  15. Frigid-brrrr. But the glass gives it a warmth, and reminds me that the green leaves are hiding beneath the snow. Our weather has given me opportunities to learn to love the snow, and I really am trying.

I DO love my Bogs (snow boots) and that is a big step forward.

  18. what a remarkable illusion this made, Lolo. I thought I was looking at a b/w photo of a graveyard and an colored headstone with a golden urn on top. I know. Sometimes my vision is so twisted. LOL Beautiful point of view and presentation.
