Cactus Monday Gifts

Well I'm glad you fellow cactuteers all enjoyed your little tags and ATC's I sent along! (Messyfish, yours is on the way!!) Yoon See...did you get yours yet?

Lynn completely took me by surprise when she sent this wonderful quilted piece of cactus art as a thank-you. You should see it in person!! And I have never ever learned to sew except in junior high (where I failed miserably) so I really appreciate anyone with this talent. She hand-dyed a dryer sheet of all things, then she backed it on a piece of felt and added all the sparkly fabric and stitch designs and it's all on a paper bag! She claims I inspired her :)

Thank you Lynn, I'll treasure it! And thanks to Teri for starting such a fun group that I struggled with in the beginning. It's really grown on me!

HCM my friends :)

  3. Laurel I think you inspire way more people than you will ever know.

Nadalene's engagement ring is a pearl (beautiful).

I am glad you will be closer to your family.

Okay since I cannot do shit-all and you inspire me too, pretend that I have just quilted you a pearl.

Hope you love it, because it was really hard to do.

  7. So much talent here. Love all your work you have passed on and Lynns work is fantastic too. I've never been a fan of cactus but I might have to try this. As they are more like jewels then cactus.

i agree with renee (i'm thinking she's a bit of a kindred soul because she often thinks what i think: you really do inspire others.

  20. Laurel, ye wee lass, that was the funniest comment I have had in ages. Laughing my head off.

I love that your sister thinks it is your imagination. Too funny. I am convinced that I am part aboriginal too, but my family tried to get it on the french side and they say that we are not. There are lots of benefits in Canada to having a native heritage.

I laughed so loud at the alcohol stupor, probably not fun at the time, but somehow funny now. See what a creep I am. I don't know why I found it funny.

You are my sister and I can tell you that my sisters would go crazy for you. You would be smothered in love, love and then more love.

  22. You are so funny tonight that I am in stitches.

I laughed all through it, so I could get through it. Oh my God. har har ha ha

I love salmon too, I think we may be twins.

I am not aboriginal. You are killing me here. hoo hoo hahaha

I hate that the childhood had bad moments but I love that you are who you are.

    Love Renee xoxo

  23. You are too funny.

    Well forget what I say...

No I'm not. I kept thinking we must be because the Ste. Marie family has been in Canada since the 17th century, so there has to be some native somewhere. But when my nephew tried to get Metis status, they said there is no native blood.

    I still don't believe it.
