Illustration Friday: Intricate Decision

I think most of us make our lives out to be more complex than they really are.
I know I do.

We get overwhelmed by situations that present themselves to us without warning or invitation. What if we stood on the edge and saw intricate beauty in life's challenges and shouted "Thank you Universe!! Message received."

Then we could tend the rice fields in baby steps, one paddy at a time.
For Illustration Friday's promt: intricate
acrylic and colored pencil on card stock

  1. I think this is something we learn as we age Lolo...one rice paddy at a time...of course sometimes life can whack us up side the head and it might take some time to find the lesson in that.

Your painting is lovely and tells an important story.

  7. i've been back to view this multiple times. i don't know what draws me in more: the life affirming colors, the solitary figure, the twists and turns of life. but one way or another this 'speaks' to me. nice work, lo.

  9. That's an idea I need to remember. It's too easy to get completely overwhelmed, and forget the thankfulness.

  15. I am in awe; I could not imagine using acrylic and colored pencils for all of the detail in this work of art. It's narrated beautifully too.

  20. Fantastic, Lolo! I love your message and agree wholeheartedly. We're so needy at times and make life dramatic for attention and out of need to escape the beautiful rawness of being on the edge. This is perfect. Precious illo. Thanks!

  21. When I first saw this I thought it was a leaf...like the feel of this...and true words...sometimes we can manufacture drama and it gets to looking like a jerry springer show...not that I watch that junk...

The new place is coming along, but as you say it so well, one box to unpack at a time...

  26. Laurel....Laurel......Laurel,
This BEAUTIFUL painting, and the lovely prose that followed, are EXACTLY what I was speaking of on Monday. What you say, how you say it, and the paintings that convey so much, all speak of "the shine" that lives within you (the vibrations of your heart). All of it is so relevant to the human condition and our own hearts. Thank you for giving so much of yourself, your inner self, to others. I know so much healing is taking place by your presence in the world. Please remember to wrap yourself in this healing you give to others (both two/four legged creatures). Love, Nancy B.
