Blithewold Bliss

We've been blessed with perfect weather lately. Blithewold Gardens and Arboretum is like heaven on earth, so what better place to take a walk with an old friend, both she and I with cameras in hand. Join us, won't you?

We went into the greenhouse and saw this enormous "Audrey 2" type of thing hanging from a large pot. This is what we saw when we got closer. It's a pitcher plant!

Look at the colors and stripes and dots! WOW.

If any of you come to visit and would like to go there, I'd be happy to escort you no matter what season we're in. It's a walking meditation, for sure.

  4. Good Morning Dear "LG/BS"! First, congrats on last night's Bruins win!

Blitheworld is a wonderland! I have never seen a "Pitcher Plant" before...(love the name....so *baseball-ish* ha-ha)! Those extraordinary markings.... in your fifth shot, the plant almost looks like a small lantern...reflecting a glow from within....GORGEOUS! (But I did chuckle at the *Audrey 2* reference!)

Looking forward to a visit there this year!!!!

    Love to all,

    ♥ RL/LS ♥

  15. To me, gardens like this could transport one to another era...and then you can come back to flush toilets and modern medicine, lol. I recently visited a topiary garden with a friend and so enjoyed it.
