Blithewold Bliss

We've been blessed with perfect weather lately. Blithewold Gardens and Arboretum is like heaven on earth, so what better place to take a walk with an old friend, both she and I with cameras in hand. Join us, won't you?

We went into the greenhouse and saw this enormous "Audrey 2" type of thing hanging from a large pot. This is what we saw when we got closer. It's a pitcher plant!

Look at the colors and stripes and dots! WOW.

If any of you come to visit and would like to go there, I'd be happy to escort you no matter what season we're in. It's a walking meditation, for sure.

Blithewold Mansion Gardens and Arboretum is having their annual Daffodil Days event this weekend. I took myself there Thursday before the crowds. Just me and nature and it was grand! And to top it off, the gift shop took two of my "rejected" paintings ;)

IF : Homage To A Tree

"Each time these blossoms open I recall the friend who gave me the saplings, and the times we used to stop and drink beneath his trees;

But those springs of twenty years ago are like a dream,

And the wine cups of those days are tea-bowls now."

~Kisei Reigen~

If you have sound, please listen to "Dream Tree" as it plays, and then "Magnolia" if you have time to linger.
