Animal Wednesday: Meet Tay (Mateo, or Mattie)

This is my friend's little 12 pound Italian Greyhound, Mateo...Tay, for short. Or we call her Tay-Tay or Tay-O-Lay or naughty girl (because she is.) She's around 9 years old now and still sleek, fast and elegant. She looooooves Auntie Laurel! My friend said Tay knows when I'm coming over if I've called on the phone. She anticipates my visit and screams like a banshee when I get there. It's a crack up! She can be high maintainance because she needs it to be all about her (just like my dog) but she is irresistable. Look at that face! She's the 'cat of dogs' and knows only two speeds... lightening fast or sleeping.
I just thought you should meet this cute little girl. I'll miss her when I move :(
Happy Animal Wednesday!
(I thought I'd continue the Greyhound theme Debra Kay!)

  1. She is beautiful and totally is the cat of dogs. Love that.

I am so sorry to hear about the dog you are taking care of poor thing.

In my family and you know it is big. I call it truths. You have your truth and I have mine. Because we all see things differently. Or my parents have said one thing to one and the other is no way, they told me something else.

    Have a peace filled day.

And you did good work with that lady and her dog. You knew and you were right. Thank God for you.

    Love Renee xoxo

  3. oh! oh! i've fallen in love. she is gorgeous, lo. you weave magic with these animals, don't you? i read your latest on renee's blog--how sad. that is how i lost my beloved rosie--not even 10 days before we had to let her go. nowadays, i close my eyes and i can see her running and jumping on rolling hills, wagging her little stub of a tail waiting for me to run to her again. (sniff)

notice how i made this about me. ah, but i know that's okay with you, my friend... xoxo

  5. Oh......I love this breed! Such grace and elegance! We always had a few in the shelter, impounded because they were used for ilegal hunting. I loved them. I still remember Greetje, she was so sweet but unfortunate she couldn´t be with cats......
    Thanks for this sweet post

    HAW!

  7. just read your story on renee's blog. lo, i was so touched by what you did, such a hard job, such a very very kind thing to do, to tell the owner and to help the dog to end her life as peacefully as possible, i truly love you for the job you do lo.extra warm fuzzies for you today.

  8. I love the Iggy's-they tear it up in agility and they are so graceful looking while they do it. They make a chihuahua seem coarse. (Sorry to all my chi-buddies)

Ady, my friend's new Grey, wouldn't run for me-the brat. She's a funny dog. She will lie quietly, then all of the sudden decide it's TIME, and gracefully hop up, give you a big slurp, then go lie back down.

  15. Everything in my house in order; thanks for the laugh.

Poor Bailey I will be thinking of him. You saved him Laurel, how fortunate that you came in his path. Here is hoping that he will have an easier time of it whereever he may go.

You take care of yourself too, okay.

    Love Renee xoxo
