Animal Wednesday : Here chick chick!

There's something about chickens that I really like. Their eyes fascinate me for some reason, and I love the different patterns of the many varieties. They make wonderful painting subjects, especially if they sit perfectly still in the studio and don't poop on the floor. Ha ha ha!!

Happy Animal Wednesday, or HAW to all you regulars!

  4. What a handsome chicken. You got the eye just perfect. It looks so wise and patient. I just love chickens. Maybe I should paint them since I can't have one of my own. :( City ordinances and grouchy husband are my obstacles.

  5. This is really beautiful. I love the look in the eye, and the cropping of the picture makes it feel intimate and alive.

  6. man, and you capture those eyes! i think chickens deserve a better fate in life. no one stands up for them really, and they don't get to say 'cluck you'.
