Illustration Friday: Midsummer Night

Here in New England a midsummer night means cricket songs and fireflies dancing and being lulled to sleep by the magic of it all.

Have a magical week!♥

watercolor and tons of colored pencil. Cricket highlighted with a white gel pen.

  4. Last evening I was late getting out to water my newly planted Ginko.
    The best part?
My path was lit by the first fire flies of the season! I could have stayed for an hour watching them slowly light and dim.
Unfortunately, their light show was followed by a bad performance by the mosquitoes.....

  21. I love your use of mixed medias - I'm always afraid to mess it up! But yours never seem to be a mess, they are beautiful. I guess art is experimentation and I'm afraid to experiment. I've got to get over that!
