IF : Emma's Opinion

This is Emma. (click on her name)

She's an SPCA rescue of the Chihuahua type

and she has an opinion about everyone and everything.

In my opinion, she's right most of the time.

I love my little girl!

  8. Great image of your Emma. You didn't need to tell us she was of the Chihuahua persuasion your sketch captured this perfectly. I haven't seen a small dog yet that doesn't have an opinion about everything and voices that opinion.

  9. HA HA HA! I love the "furthermore." I bet Trader Joe never thought his bags would be considered works of art.

  10. She is a living doll. She's adorable and yes her opinion carries weight! I love it to pieces. I bet she has a lot to say. he he he

  11. I used to have a cat. She was half Siamese and chattered away all day long! Talk about opinions, she had one after another.

  12. I love the look of Emma and the way you've drawn her with great perspective - her ears are wonderful. I think all small dogs are very opinionated!

  18. It's not my fault. These guys develop themselves. All I do is try to stay out of the way.

  22. very cute dog and a lovely illustration. I know you're a Tom Waits fan, I'm a little leary of asking what you think of the Frank's Wild Years song - poor Carlos

  23. Hhahaha- I agree with her too. Excellent illo here, personality- the collaged words and everything work so well.

  25. Cobol: I'm not familiar with that Waits song you mentioned. I went on Amazon but couldn't get enough of it to get a feel.
The one that melts me to my core is "Martha" from his "Closing TIme" CD. I play it in the car sometimes but I have to be careful because I reeeeaaaallly get into it as if I'm the one performing! Too funny. And sad. hah!

  26. Lovely Lolo! Love the brown paper also

  27. trader joe's would be proud...

    :)

  28. well, this is quite a different side to Tom Waits from Martha, it's a rather nasty number and I think you'll understand why it applies to your illustration, it's from the Swordfishtrombones album:

Frank settled down out in the Valley
And he hung his wild years in a nail that he drove through his wife's forehead
He sold used office furniture out there on San Fernando Road
    And assumed a $30,000 loan at 15 1/4 %
And put down payment on a little two bedroom place
His wife was a spent piece of used jet trash
Made good bloody marys, kept her mouth shut most of the time
Had a little Chihuahua named Carlos
That had some kind of skin disease and was totally blind
They had a thoroughly modern kitchen, self-cleaning oven (the whole bit)
Frank drove a little sedan, they were so happy

One night Frank was on his way home from work
He stopped at the liquor store
Picked up a couple Mickey's Big Mouths
Drank 'em in the car on his way to the Shell station
He got a gallon of gas in a can
Drove home, doused everything in the house, torched it
Parked across the street laughing and watching it burn
All Halloween orange and chimney red
Then Frank put on a top forty station
    Got on the Hollywood Freeway
    Headed north

    Never could stand that dog

  29. Do you ever think she’s barking up the wrong tree? (Sorry!).
    Wonderful illo.

    ReplyDelete
  30. COBOL: Yikes, poor carlos!!

Waits can sure write the words. There's nobody like him.
Now I'm going to have to put that image out of my head.

I'm guessing she always gets the last word...no matter what you say...she's gotta get in that final, woof, yeah?

A beautiful illustration. The love and acceptance are all there.
