IF : Punchline

Okay folks, I'm stumped this week! While I'm thinking of a new image to create for this week's word, I'll leave you with a collage I did last year or so. I believe that the best pet adoption is when the person and the animal really settle into one another's groove. If an adoption is one-sided, it usually doesn't work out and both sides end up feeling a bit disappointed. Certain pets fit certain lifestyles better than others. Luckily for Lola, her rescues are very social creatures and love a good stogie!

For Illustration Friday : Punchline.

  1. She has found the perfect fit! Ted says our cats are just like their mommy... they all whine when they want something... in fact we all use the same tone and infliction. Meeeooow?

  15. Amen sister. I've learned to bring dogs home with my head, not my heart...ok, there is still some heart involved, but I always ask myself "is this going to work for ALL of us".

Bitty is a strange case-she wants to be out with the pack, but not WITH the pack, rather on the fringes. In cooler weather she wants to be in the house on a basket, but with any warmth at all she wants to be where the dogs are-even though she doesn't appear to like them.

But, it works for us because I don't need anything from her attentionwise either.

So many people look at what they want to get from a dog-and not at all at what they have to give in return.

  16. very cute. my daughter and roomie rescued a dog on the freeway in LA last week; a cockapoo, they called the owner who said he just didnt want it anymore. they kept it for a week and then took it to the dog beach and found an owner there. their own house is too full of animals and they just could not take one more

  17. Oh, how funny is this?! VERY!

My husband and I got an Aussie Sheepdog from the shelter. After an unsuccessful two year attempt to bond we gave up and took her out to Las Vegas to live with our son. She sends the occasional postcard from casinos to tell us how happy life is for her now.

  18. There you are! Husband lol at the collage and likes the music. Me too. We were interviewed and had a 'home visit' before getting our rescue dog; and sure enough, we three are made for one another. Still in the RV (Canterbury) and will be leaving your music on while we have dinner (garbanzo beans and chorizo; I love cooking in the van!). Our best to you.

  19. Laurel, this is so clever and the images are perfect! I like your post about the lifesyles "fit". So true! I bought an Irish Setter pup when my baby was crawling and let me tell you...! I couldn't keep up with both of them...had to keep the kid, but found a great home for the Setter.
