When I was seeing what I had on hand for this week, I came across this seagull from a large painting I posted last year called "Centering." I remember walking the beach on a blustery, Winter day and seeing this seagull hover right before my eyes just a few inches from me. I knew it had to be in a painting! I painted him larger than life to give him a sense of a powerful presence. Click to enlarge him so you can see the detail. There is much more to seagulls than we see with a quick glance. So, remember to stop and take a deep breath every now and then in your rushing about, and get centered. Happy Animal Wednesday!
Very nice. I will try to be centered today. That's a good thought. I was on the verge of being frazzled by a big to do list.

Enlarging this guy shows all his colors and details - and your amazing talent! What a great painting. I've always loved seagulls despite their greedy ways.
ReplyDeleteThanks for a lovely HAW
I'm amazed with your talent in animals painting! Bravo!
ReplyDeleteexquisite, and i need some centering today, am off keel again. hugs and wfs to you.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Julia and Bobo, you reeeeeaaaaaly know your way around animal paintings. Sheepers! I sure could have used Mr. Seagull yesterday, to help me center. I was a chocolate mess! But no time like the present to put that idea to work.
ReplyDeleteThanks as always, Laurel. Gorgeous painting!
Wow, this is masterful and beautiful! I love seagulls also, esp after I read "Jonathan Livingston Seagull"
