Cactus Monday # 6

Okay, my intention was to try and do a really nice rendition of this cactus on canvas. The day was getting away from me, so instead I thought I'd do a nice pen and ink drawing of it seeing as the day was almost gone. Uh, that would be NO. I overworked it and overworked it until it was a damp, grey piece of paper. I didn't give up! I took out my trusty watercolors and colored pencils and went over the whole thing again. It's no masterpiece, but after all that work I'm posting it! Happy Cactus Monday Cacuteers!!

  1. It looks okay to me, Laurel. Well, after I looked at it in the larger size. :)

  2. I like it too especially the light shining in the background. Isn't it great to save a painting?!
    Happy Cactus Monday.

  3. I really like it. Sometimes things take on a life of their own, and become what they are born to be.

  4. Perhaps you just looked at it too long, because it really is nice! The colors are especially gorgeous, so you did indeed save it from being "a damp, grey piece of paper." I like how the light green pops everything and your line work is lovely as well.

    Glad you stuck to it!
