The lovely Ms. Stella who was very generous with her kisses ;)

A sleepy old guy who appeared to be deaf because he ignored every sound I made to get him to look my way.

I think he's laughing inside!

Provincetown Part 1

The long drive to Provincetown was a breeze this weekend. It's as if everyone waited to go later. Honestly, I had the open road the whole way and the sunshine followed along.

A little squirrel acted as my escort, showing me the way up the stairs.
Ah, but I already knew my way!

This is the view from the outdoor dining table where we shared wonderful meals and conversation. It's such a charming place!

A calm greeter.

The sweet windowbox on the shed. Their neighbor has wonderful special touches everywhere you look. What a green thumb he has!

This was the view from my window at the restaurant we went to for Sunday brunch.
(remember, $12.95 all you can eat at Fanizzi's!!)
hahaha, KJ was telling everyone that all day!

The three of us went to the beach Sunday afternoon and just chilled for a couple of hours. It was heavenly and peaceful and nourishing.

Look at this sweet little free-spirit!

Our tired feetsies :)

It was a lovely day. A perfect weekend, really.
I took so many photos that I'll have to do a series of posts. The next one will be on the houses and gardens, and then Wednesday will be some dog photos I took on my walks.
This is just a short post for now so I can get caught up on things around here.
It's amazing what falls apart when I'm not here, but I have to say Bri did a great job taking care of Emma and Bliss, and that's one huge worry off my mind.

I hope to visit all of you real soon!!

Thanks KJ and JB.
I'm still glowing♥

cactus monday: back from P-Town

I'm back from a glorious, relaxing, much needed three days in Provincetown with two of the best hostesses on the planet! While I'm busy editing over 100 pictures of homes, gardens, whimsey, dogs, the beach and everything in between, let me share this delicious bloody mary with you that I had at brunch yesterday (the best brunch in town for only $12.95!!.) That was for you Ms. Kj ;)
How nice the bartender included a perfect celery cactus!!

Down the hatch!!! And Happy Cactus Monday!

Animal Wednesday: Sweet Young Thing

Remember these sweet little out-buildings that I saw at Coggeshall Farm?
I took my friend there so she could get photos of them and when we got there our view was blocked. Hold on, I'm coming to that! But meanwhile we were told what they used to be. This top one was the cheese house. This was an old working farm, remember?

And this one is right next to it, this is the well. The young man let us open the door to show us. It just looked like a house full of water! The reason the cheese house was close to it is because there was no electricity in those days, hence it was hard to keep the dairy products safe from bacteria, so they washed the walls, shelves and floors constantly. It was just handy and neccesary to have the well close by.

But these guys were blocking our photo shots!
This is Constance and one of her keepers. I forget what kind of cow she is, but I do remember he said she's 10 months old.

She was completely ignoring us to munch on these fresh greens.
Between the mud from recent rain and her cow pies, well, it was hard to step around there!

"Constance" is going back to the pasture to be with her sister "Goodness" and the horses and burro. You wouldn't believe the decibal of the MOOOOOOOO that came out of her! She wanted to stay right where she was.
I have to admit, that place is so peaceful and restorative.
We can all use a dose of that!

Animal Wednesday: Meet Puff-Puff

OMG that face!!!!

This little guy is my friend's new kitten. I promised I'd come over and do a photo shoot, but little did I know that I'd want to sneak him out the door in my bra!

Your BRA???

Well, I did bond with him instantly. Look how loving he is with his chipmunk ,yet he still gives his undivided attention so the camera gets a good shot!

He's a Siberian something-or-other, a hypo-allergenic breed.
Look at that curled paw of love. I could have gobbled him up.

And he has what I call "even shoes" where the markings are lined up on the feet!
Look at that coy look. I'm melting, honestly.

oooh, what's going on over there?

Excuse me but.....

I don't want any more pictures taken. I have dish towels to pull down. You can go home now!

Happy Animal Wednesday!!

I have been straight out crazy busy and I hope to visit all of you soon. I promise!!

Blithewold Bliss

We've been blessed with perfect weather lately. Blithewold Gardens and Arboretum is like heaven on earth, so what better place to take a walk with an old friend, both she and I with cameras in hand. Join us, won't you?

We went into the greenhouse and saw this enormous "Audrey 2" type of thing hanging from a large pot. This is what we saw when we got closer. It's a pitcher plant!

Look at the colors and stripes and dots! WOW.

If any of you come to visit and would like to go there, I'd be happy to escort you no matter what season we're in. It's a walking meditation, for sure.

Animal Wednesday: The Amazing Thundershirt

Here's my little Emma wearing her Thundershirt because she heard thunder in the distance and she's terrified of it.
Right here she's lying at my feet after we cuddled for a while with her shirt on.

Is that more thunder???? Ears at maximum radar.

I think I'll go in my bed and bark at dogs walking by.

yes, more thunder! I knew it!

No worries though. Mom is in the studio with me and I have on my amazing Thundershirt!

* Note to my friends with dogs with fear or barking issues. Go to this website and watch their videos. I was a skeptic but decided to try one since they give a 100% money back guarantee. I can't say enough about it! My husband thinks it changes her personality too much as if she's drugged. That's the point!!! It's valium in a jacket!

Happy Animal Wednesday!
