Animal Wednesday: Nesting

I went looking through my archives to see if I had an appropriate image to use for today.
I did this painting five years ago when I rented a musty old room in someone's house as my first studio. I wanted to paint a nest, but then I thought about a little sparrow bringing an 'offering' to my painting because he thought the nest was real! Talk about self-flattery!
Anyway, five years later I see a lot wrong with the painting. Still, someone in Southern California is enjoying it as part of their bird art collection.
Apologies to those of you who may have already seen this. I haven't had a whole lot of time to do new stuff lately. I'm working on changing that though ;)
Happy Animal and nesting Wednesday!

  6. Poor confused bird. I'm sure the person who owns it now is happy to have it and does not see any imperfections. I sure don't.

  12. I love to see your "old "work since I haven seen all yet!But even though I could just see it over and over again!
There is nothing wrong with this one , but I know that feeling your art and techniques have grown over the years and that is what you see probably.
To me it is perfect just as the bird sees it!

  13. this is so cute and evocative of giving...

Funny, dogs used to bark at photos we had framed on our waiting room wall when I worked at a mixed practice...but cats never hiss at the cat prints we have here at the cat hospital.

Though I did have a kitty that hissed at a tole painted cat that was painted like a cat she didn't like...
