IF : Sail Anyway

When we find ourselves in the middle of a storm, sometimes we just have to sail through it and trust we'll come out the other side.
Happy Weekend Everyone!

Acrylic on canvas for Illustration Friday's prompt: sail
(The original is so much moodier and darker than it shows here. For sale in my Etsy shop!)

  3. I'm almost sure that red balloon will weather the storm. Nice analogy... and solution for this topic, at times it is good to sail through moments.

Also enjoyed you Etsy store very much :)

  4. Wow! I absolutely LOVE this. You create a wonderful sense of mood. Tonite I am sort of feeling like a determined red ballon sailing through the storm.

  6. I love your dark, moody sky and the position of your cheery balloon way off to the side. Brilliant! So much truth to this. Have a nice week!

  7. You do beautiful skies! Just hope your own are full of sunshine. Do you add anything to your acrylic paint (medium, etc)? Have a great weekend!

  9. Thanks for the nice comments everyone! In spite of this gloomy-skied post, my skies are sunny :)
I thought of this at the last minute becasue you know I like to go for the "unusual." This was a twenty minute painting, if that!

Connie, I use acrylics out of the bottle and mix my own colors. There aren't any other mediums used on this piece. I love painting skies and just scumble them in, wet on wet! tress are my next favorite thing to paint :)

  13. This is wonderful - and what lovely thoughts you have with this.

This year has been like that for me and I will try to remember this wisdom.

    I have a blog give-away too.

  17. Gorgeous work, great sentiment. Coasting and sailing are vastly under rated and under practiced.
