IF : Contained

Earlier this evening this contained my dinner. It was shrimp with snow peas and it was Deee-licious!

Oh, I'm sorry I didn't share it with you.

Next time, okay?

Acrylic and prismacolor Pencils on patterned card stock.

I really didn't have this for dinner, I just needed to draw something.

    Love this Laurel.
The colors of the container are a wonderful contrast to the background.

  3. Yeah, well, it probably WILL be my dinner tomorrow, because you've put me in the mood. This illo says contentment, my friend. Beautiful work!

  4. lovely painting... especially because we do not see the food...

the box and the sticks and the colors tell us a lot...

it reminded me of Robert Bresson's minimalistic style in film-making... by not showing much, he impressed the viewer more...

  16. Oh, I don't think the ants are going to be able to resist! I can see them now crawling up the side of that container...!

The painting has such a nice harmonious feel, and I really love the brush strokes you used on the container

  22. I always come round after everyone has left you every conceivable complement. I am at word for loss.
I showed this one to my cat, Chester, and he demanded to be let out of the house. 5 minutes later he scratched at the door and demanded to be let in again.

Then he wanted to be scratched behind the ears, which in turn led to purring until, with no warning whatsoever, he stopped purring and demanded to go outside again.

And all because I showed him your post.
    Very curious!

    Best regards,
    Neil

  28. This is terrific. It's playful somehow. Different than what you do as well. Maybe because it doesn't portray an animal or human.

Just had Chinese food for lunch, szechwan string bean with tofu – yum!

  41. Not sure how I missed this one but added you to my barratuna site and it popped up(I think this will be the third time so I'm not sure what happens to you)...very nice and 'simple'...and by no means is that meant as a backhanded comment because it is often this type of work that is so hard to do effectively...great capture
