Animal Wednesday : Bella Luna

Did you see that incredible full moon we had a couple of days ago? They said it would appear 14% larger because of how close it would be to the earth, and 30% brighter because it would be more aligned with the sun than usual. I nearly went off the road when I saw it!

Did I get a photo even though I had my camera with me. Uh, no.

Here's an older collage I did which reminds me of that magnificent moon, and a lovely white cat who's soaking in the magic.

Happy Animal Wednesday my lunar pals! I did NOT say looney :)

  1. Yes, I did see it, kept looking out in my backyard at the cat statuary looking like they had auras. Love your collage, one of my cats (or more) would look lovely in that setting.

  3. I love this collage! Unfortunately, I missed the moon. I'm very affected by the moon, though, so it explains a lot.

  6. Oh yes the moon I saw for a number of nights, its brightness such a beautiful light. The collage is lovely. Do you do these by hand or is this a digital collage. It almost looks digital or parts of it.

  8. Suki..this is all done from magazine clippings. I don't know how to do digital work other than the cheap little greeting card program I bought. You can see I even added a black and white plant in here! I also added a few paint strokes for the water's reflection. The cat's shadowing was done with marker.
I'm glad you saw the moon :)

  11. I am so sad to have missed it this round. It has been so overcast most of the time. Threats of snow. I really like this collage. You are right the cat is lovely. It is like she soaked up all of the moon's glow.

  18. Hey thanks for posting over on my blog-- its so fun to meet new people:)
Anyhow, great collage...I love that its not digital and it looks fantastic larger. Collages are so tricky when they're not totally abstract (at least for me) and this one works beautifully.

  21. Oh, I love the whimsy and magic! You should definitely do more collage! This would make a cute card.

Thanks again for the books. My niece's Bat Mitzvah was Saturday. You are helping to put a smile on the faces of some displaced kiddies. Thanks.

And thanks for checking on me...I came home with a cold that has turned into something requiring sleep and antibiotics. So I have not made my rounds in the blogosphere. Thanks for making me feel missed. :)

    Hugs,

    Kate
