Illustration Friday : HELP

Ms. Fancy Striped Pants was the proud mother of two healthy furballs, Steeler and Eddie. She'd lie there day after day, content to nurse them into becoming big strong boys.

One day she heard the hair raising screech of car tires in front of her house, so being the good neighbor she was, she left her boys tucked in bed and went to have a look. Sadly, her friend Maude, the grey squirrel, met her untimely death with Uniroyal and left an orphaned daughter, Nut-Tasha. She knew there was only one thing to do and that was to take Nut-Tasha home and nurse her as if she were her own.

Sometimes we all need a little help now and then, especially the less fortunate.

Blessings to all of you this holiday season!

  25. What an endearing piece and story. It reminds me of when our dear dog took care of some lost baby rabbits years ago. I remember as a kid how amazing it was to witness such a thing.

  30. Thanks for coming to see my mousie house! I have heard many stories like this - the mothering urge overpowering other natural instincts! Thanks also for commenting on my son's penguin picture -- he was so excited! I had to convince him it wasn't me! Paula

  32. Couldn't find an email address, but thought I'd try this--to post a static page for IF, go ahead and post your entry. Then, over on the left side of your blog, it says "Previous posts" and the titles of all the posts are there--Click on the post for IF, and then, when it comes up, copy THAT address from your address bar. It'll be longer--the one for help was
