IF : Heavy Thoughts

Sometimes the smallest things can weigh heavy on our minds. If we were to take baby steps in solving our problems, we would get where we need to go without being overwhelmed by the task at hand. Keep an open mind and be open to new possibilities. Release the idea that you "can't" do something and then chip away at it bit by bit by bit. The heaviness of the situation will just fall away and become a distant memory.
Please see my moleskine entry here.

  6. As that old song lyric goes:
    "I like 'em long,
    I like 'em tall,
    I like 'em short,
    and that's not all
    !"

Ya gotta love this one, Laurel. :)

  18. That's funny Ascender! No, she's actually a cut out of a bronze sculpture. I thought it was a fun concept for a string hammock to be able to hold her. She seems so unworried about it, hence, be open to new possibilities!

  19. In French they say a woman is "mûre" (literally it means's ripe). It's used to mean a more mature, developed woman. I like this saying, to think of a woman as "ripe". I think both your illustrations portrait truly beautiful "mûre" women. Bravo!

  20. Your submission certainly portrays the idea of "possibility," with the string hammock carrying all that weight. Great submission!

  21. This collage is fabulous! She is the picture of beauty, light in her hammock because she loves herself:> I did read your moleskine entry and it saddened me. Sad that you heard those unkind, insensitive words, and sad that the speaker will be remembered in that context. Oh well... I have never seen you, but I know you are beautiful just as you are... and I'm not Mr. Rodgers!

  23. She's so beautiful and voluptuous and more importantly, she knows it.

Thanks for that bit of advice. It comes at a great time for me. I really needed to hear those words. You are a wise one, you!

  31. what a lovely and provocative piece! I believe everyone is prejudice, it's those who say they are not, that are really dangerous, because their minds are closed...
    take care.

  33. wow - lady - you sure do get some comments!
    GO YOU!
and I LOVE your idea of sharing a journal - we can each add to pages if they are partially done, and also designate some pages done if that's how we feel. . .
I will start one and send it to you, and you can start one and send it to me.
sounds like a wonderful collaboration - and you know I am not a rule maker OR keeper, so whatever happens if fine - no deadlines, no absolutes, no specifications - just do what you feel.
    or what you don't feel!
    I never mind a mess!
