IF : How I'd Choose To Spend My Money

"If I had a penny, I'd buy a rainbow in a jar and when I got home I'd open the lid and share it with my friends."

This is a story I wrote many, many years ago called "If I Had A Penny." The premise of it is about this young boy who wanted to change the world by spending his money to help the environment, animals and mankind. I love digging out my old stuff and seeing how timeless some of these subjects are. I know this is how I'd choose to spend my money too, if only it were that simple.

  2. beautiful story and sentiment, and an ADORABLE illustration. reminds me of this series I saw a long time ago (and I'm kicking myself now that I can't remember the woman's name who did them...) The "when I grow up" series: When I grow up I want to be fair (let's all share these cookies evenly), I want to be kind, etc. but I digress. Yours is Awesome, awesome! you should do more of these (please!)....

  8. A great idea for a story. I love the simplicity of the line drawing with only the rainbow in color. Very effective. Also, Your characters are adorable and expressive, and of course the kitty is batting at the rainbow. Isn't it just like a kitty?

I agree with Ginger, would love to see you go forward with this. I want to buy it and add it to my collection!

  29. That's such a great idea! I like that the rainbow is the only color. Does it spread throughout the story?
I also like to pull out old work - and then I often redo it. I think we still feel strongly about the themes that influenced the earlier art.
