IF : Scale

Phyllis discovered she had a natural talent for playing the scales through her nostrils.

For some reason I found myself humming "Puff the Magic Dragon" while drawing this. Honest. It was torture!

acrylic, Prismacolor pencils, Pitt pen, collage notes and rubber stamp wings on a scrap of cardboard.

  1. Hey Lolo! Yea! you are on the front page! You totally deserve it. ...and... what a sweet dragon, I love all of the mediums you used to create this one.

"Puff the magic dragon" is Ted's least favorite song, he gets really irritated if he hears it because then in runs in his head all day long... Hmmmmm wonder if I should torture him.

  15. This is fantastic - I LOVE the gossamer wings - perfect for flying around a rather substantial dragon. It's all the better for her name being Phyllis...

  21. Phyllis has beautiful green scales. When he was very small, my son had a tiny stuffed Puff that played the song when wound up.

  22. Thanks for visiting!

Great piece. I really like the texture...

  23. Phyllis should stop singing that song or she will never find a mate. I like how you used 2 version of the word. I thought about drawing Sully with scales, on a scale, singing scales, while scaling the mountain... but it was too much for one illustration. :)

  26. It's funny when a tune gets stuck in your head. Well Phyllis herself is quite an elegant scaly creature practicing the scales. This topic is so diverse, it's amazing what people come up with. This is lovely.

Your portrait of Phyllis is beautiful! Peaceful expression and colors- always love visiting here. (I don't even mind that you got me humming that 'P.T.M.D' song now too- it's not such a bad song- but over and over- well...).

i've found that one good way to get rid of earworm is to find more earworm.
